What time do the boats pass the restaurant?

The historical water parade comes through the Rialto stretch in the late afternoon, and the races follow one after another until the gondolini final in the early evening. Every race passes twice — once heading up to the turning post, once coming back down to the finish. The Comune publishes exact times in August; we send them to every booked table.

How long do we keep the table?

The whole afternoon and evening. One seating only — the table is yours from arrival until after the gondolini final. Nobody is moved on.

No. The menu covers four courses, water and coffee. Wine is ordered separately from our cellar list, which is brought to the table.

How do we reach you on the day?

On foot. The Grand Canal closes to traffic for the afternoon and the vaporetti along it are suspended or diverted, so plan to walk. We are two minutes from the Rialto Bridge on the San Polo side. Come early — the calli around Rialto are slow going by mid-afternoon.

Is the terrace covered if it rains?

Yes. The terrace is sheltered and the tables keep their view. The regatta runs in the rain, and so do we.

Can we mix fish and meat menus at the same table?

Yes. Each guest chooses their own menu when you book, and you can change the balance up to a few days before.

Can you accommodate allergies or dietary requirements?

Yes. Tell us when you book and we adapt the menu. We handle gluten, shellfish and dairy routinely, and we can prepare a vegetarian version of both menus with notice.

Every race starts in the Bacino di San Marco, runs the length of the Grand Canal to the turning post at San Marcuola, then comes back down to the finish at Ca' Foscari. Riva del Vin is on the return leg, just before the line. Ogni regata parte dal Bacino di San Marco, risale il Canal Grande fino al paleto a San Marcuola, e ritorna verso il traguardo di Ca' Foscari.
