A terrace right on the water
Our open-air terrace stretches along Riva del Vin, the historic wine landing of Venice. Tables are shaded by awnings and lit by lanterns in the evening — an intimate dinner one metre from the Grand Canal.

Terrazza Sommariva is one of the few Venetian restaurants with tables directly on the Grand Canal, on Riva del Vin, a few steps from the Rialto Bridge. For forty years we have served Venetian seafood with one of the city's most iconic views: gondolas, vaporetti and historic palazzi gliding by within arm's reach.

Daily catch from the Rialto fish market, handmade pasta such as lobster tagliatelle and spaghetti with vongole veraci, mixed Adriatic fry, baccalà mantecato and seafood risotti. Honest, local cooking that lets the ingredient speak.
Canal-view tables go fast, especially around sunset. We recommend booking 2-3 days ahead at weekends and during high season (March-October). Sunset dinner around 7:30 pm is the most magical slot.
We are at Riva del Vin 731, on the San Polo side of the canal. 12 min on foot from Santa Lucia station, 2 min from the Rialto Bridge. Closest vaporetto stop: Rialto Mercato (lines 1 and 2), 100 m away.
