Our open-air terrace stretches along Riva del Vin, the historic wine landing of Venice. Tables are shaded by awnings and lit by lanterns in the evening — an intimate dinner one metre from the Grand Canal.

Terrazza Sommariva's terrace sits directly alongside the Grand Canal on Riva del Vin, near the historic Rialto Bridge. We serve Venetian cooking with views of gondolas, vaporetti and historic palazzi.
Venetian seafood cooking
Lobster tagliatelle, spaghetti with vongole veraci, mixed fried seafood, baccalà mantecato and seafood risotti. Seafood selected according to season and availability, inspired by Venice's long seafood tradition and our proximity to the historic Rialto Market. Origin may vary.
When to book
Canal-view tables go fast, especially around sunset. We recommend booking 2-3 days ahead at weekends and during high season (March-October). Sunset dinner around 7:30 pm is the most magical slot.
How to find us
We are at Riva del Vin 731, on the San Polo side of the canal, a 2-minute walk from the Rialto Bridge. By vaporetto: San Silvestro stop (line 1), on our side of the canal with no bridges to cross; or Rialto stop (lines 1 and 2), then cross the Rialto Bridge. Water taxis can stop right in front of the restaurant.

- Can I reserve a canal-side table?
- Yes — please add your preference in the booking notes. We will do our best to seat you on the terrace with a Grand Canal view, subject to availability.
- Best time for the view?
- Sunset, whose time changes with the season, gives the warmest light on the Rialto Bridge. Lunchtime offers bright daylight for photos; after dinner the palazzi lights reflect on the water.
- Do you offer a set menu?
- We have a seafood tasting menu and a full à la carte. Prices in euros, cover charge €2.50. Allergen information available on request.
