In a city visited by millions, choosing well where to eat makes all the difference. Here is the checklist we at Terrazza Sommariva recommend — valid for any restaurant, ours included.

1. A priced menu before you sit. Read the full menu, online or at the entrance. 2. Fish and meat by weight: check the price per 100 g and ask for the approximate weight before ordering. 3. Cover and service: make sure they are clearly stated on the menu.

4. Many recent reviews: a high number of Google reviews is a stronger signal than a few perfect scores. 5. Clear hours: knowing when the kitchen is open avoids waiting. 6. Easy booking: a direct channel such as WhatsApp makes it easy to request a table and ask questions.

7. Ask about dietary needs: a good restaurant answers clearly, without promises it cannot keep.

How we measure up. Terrazza Sommariva publishes its full menu with prices, lists whole fish and steaks by weight, is open daily 08:00–23:30 and has over 8,800 Google reviews averaging 4.6. We are at Riva del Vin 731, on the Grand Canal next to Rialto Bridge.
