Venice is a sea city, and the Rialto area has a long history tied to the fish trade. At Terrazza Sommariva seafood is selected according to season and availability, inspired by Venice's long seafood tradition and our proximity to the historic Rialto Market. Origins may vary according to season and availability — just ask our staff.
To start: raw seafood. The Plateau Royal brings raw seafood and shellfish together in one sharing platter, ideal for two or more. It is the most spectacular way to open a dinner on the Grand Canal.
Seafood pasta. Spaghetti alle vongole, tagliatelle with lobster and other seafood pastas are the heart of the menu. For a celebration dish, lobster is the classic choice.
Whole fish. Sea bass and turbot are served whole, priced per 100 g, as is customary in good seafood restaurants. Before ordering, ask for the approximate weight — the most transparent way to know what you'll spend.
Venetian classics. Sarde in saor and baccalà mantecato tell the story of lagoon cooking: sweet-sour, creamy, old. Perfect as a first taste with a glass of white wine.
